How to check

Three steps to your result

Have your scratch card and registration number ready before you begin.

Get a scratch card

Obtain a BECE result checker card from your school or an approved vendor. Do not scratch it with a sharp object.

Enter your details

Select the examination year, then enter your registration number, card PIN and card serial number.

View and print

Your result is displayed immediately. Print it or save a copy for your records.

Registration number format: KG/XX01/072/20/012. If you do not know yours, use the candidate list to look it up by school. A card can be used an unlimited number of times, but it cannot be transferred once used.

? I do not know my registration number. What do I do?
Open the candidate list, select your examination year and school, and print the list of candidates who sat for the BECE there. Your registration number appears beside your name.
? My result cannot be found. What could be wrong?
Check that you selected the correct examination year and that your registration number matches the KG/XX01/072/20/012 format exactly. If the details are correct and the result still does not appear, contact the Ministry using the details below.
? Can I use one scratch card more than once?
Yes. A card can be used an unlimited number of times for the same candidate. However, a card is not transferable once it has been used, so it cannot be shared with another candidate.
? My card PIN will not scratch off cleanly.
Do not use a sharp object, as this can destroy the numbers underneath. If the PIN or serial number is already damaged and unreadable, the card cannot be recovered and you will need a replacement from your vendor.
? Which years can I check results for?
Results from 2020 to 2026 are available on the portal. Select the examination year on the Check Result page before entering your details.
? Can I view my result on a phone?
The portal works on a phone, but the result sheet is wide and is easier to read on a computer. For printing, we recommend using a computer.
